Less than an hour away before the new year begins. YAY!
The last few days have been mind boggling brilliant. Seriously tempted to just stay in Italy, but alas, I must go home in just a few more days. :(
What was so brilliant? Well, the week started with Venezia, my home away from home away from home. I think one day I really need to rent or buy a tiny apartment in Venice and live for a while.
Then Tuesday I took the trains down to Terni to visit a friend I met online, Franco. He plays with the Celtic group The Light Spirits. I'll try and find some music for ye to hear when I get back. I actually recorded two nights of kick ass sessions. One of which was in a castle in Labro. A tiny room that was a pub a couple dozen people and some awesome craic!
Emotions ran high, and I made a couple of amazingly new dear friends of Elvira and Lucrezia. The next day I got a great tour of Rome with Lucrezia. She even took me to a cat sanctuary in the heart of the city next to a graveyard where Mary Shelley was buried.
It was blissful. I left Rome with some beautiful memories that I reflected on while reading some Italian poetry of Lucrezia's on the train home.
It's been a good year. This trip certainly helped to top off the experience. I hope and pray the next will be just as magnificent as I start a new life as just a musician.
I also hope and pray that each of your New Year is as joyous. Celebrate the moment. Inhale life and raise a glass to friendship. Slainte! |
Happy New Year! I'm glad you're having a great time and wish you the best of luck with your new just-a-musician endeavor. I'm sure you'll do great, though! Best wishes, Amanda

I admire you for taking on your dream and following it.. from where I stand things lok like they're turning out great for you. I'll get there eventually as well.. but it'll take a while. Still, may it be the best year for you yet!

He'd love it. Just make sure you put the Unicorn song, Bog down in the valley(parents who travel with their wee ones will hate it, but the kids will LOOOOVE it, and the Virgin song(I swear he laughs and coos everytime I play it!)on it somewhere...;p
I bet it would be a #1 seller in no time flat!
